Learn celestial navigation, also known as astronavigation. This is an ancient and modern practice of finding direction using the stars. 

As viewed from Earth, the ecliptic is a great circle around our sky, formed by the intersection of Earth's orbital plane with the imaginary celestial sphere surrounding us. The sun travels around our sky on the great circle of the ecliptic. The moon and planets also follow this path and our team will help you locate this in the night sky.

In Western astrology, and formerly astronomy, the zodiac is divided into twelve signs, each occupying 30° of celestial longitude and roughly corresponding to the constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. At any one time we can see 6 Zodiacs and we will help you find them.

We have a number of Deep Sky telescopes operating at the Earth Sanctuary Observatory and we will get to see a variety of celestial objects.

On this tour you'll see our homes of the future. This self-contained geodesic dome showcases some of the best solutions in sustainable living. The ‘Phoenix Dome’ was designed, fabricated and built by Dan Falzon, Family co owner of Earth Sanctuary. Each panel was built from flat steel sheets and fabricated into triangles. The total coverage consists of over 260 panels and 64 windows, and the dome sits on a raised floor consisting of a clever product called wonder board made from plant fibre.” This multi dome steel fabrication brings together solutions in energy, water, shelter, food, utilities and wellbeing. 

As viewed from above, the Earth Hut built by Tom Falzon co-owner and Director of Earth Sanctuary is another wonderful example of sustainable living in action. With 12 Volt integrated technologies  and renewable power the Earth Hut aslo boasts a wide range of Positive Global Solutions in its design and materials. A must see for all visitors.
