Environmental Accountability: How Earth Sanctuary remains 100% carbon neutral
Any excess carbon produced by Earth Sanctuary (that is not already offset through its own renewable resources such as solar and wind generation or rain water catchment), is offset through a combination of Australian or global Native Reforestation initiatives conducted in partnership with Carbon Neutral Australia.
In 2018 the major initiatives introduced by Earth Sanctuary to reduce its environmental footprint are:
Earth Sanctuary produces 80% of its energy from renewable sources
Earth Sanctuary captures 65% of its water from rain water tanks
Earth Sanctuary composts ALL of its food waste.
Earth Sanctuary recycles ALL of its cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles.
Earth Sanctuary measures its environmental footprint in terms of CO2 emissions over 14 key areas. This data is assessed by Carbon Neutral Australia and offset through various carbon reduction initiatives.
